Causes of occurrence

• Depressurization of the joint due to wear of the seal, lack of tightness in the link-pin or link-bushing fit, defects on the bushing end and the working surface of the seal, through bushing wear, cracks in the link.
• High (over 80 ° C) or low (less than -50 ° C) ambient and ground temperature.

Factors accelerating the appearance of a defect

• High abrasiveness of moist and damp soil
• Large axial play between adjacent links
• Severe repetitive shock loads at operation
• Use of excessively wide shoes

Effect produced

Accelerated wear of the pin-bush joint, which leads to an increase in the chain pitch, increased wear of the drive wheel teeth and the outer diameter of the bushings. Depending on the cause of the depressurization and the degree of wear, the inability to use links, bushings and pins for repair.

Prevention and elimination

• Control over the observance of dimensions in the production of links, pins and bushings, for the roughness of the ends of the bushings
• Control over the correctness of setting up the equipment and the press when assembling the track chain.
